serial numbers

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me out :)

I have somegold suisse bars that are 26 + years old. nothing heavy.. a halfounce... a few 10g bars and a 20 g bar. The thing is they dont have a serial number like the ones i have seen sold on ebay.

I have a few Johnson Matthey 100 Troy Ounce .999 Silver Bars in the original box. These are the older type. The bars are serialized. The Serial Numbers all start with an "R". I was told that these bars are 25+ years old and, I believe that the "R" stands for Rochester New York. I am looking for a cross reference of serial number to year manufactured. I have had no luck with it from JM. Does anybody have any info on these types of bars?
